Postdoctoral Opportunity

BACK

The project will be developed through collaboration between professors from IGCE / UNESPetro and researchers from the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), from the Brazilian Center for Research in Energies and Materials (CNPEM) aimed at studying the elementary composition of heterogeneous and hierarchical materials.

Post-Doctoral Program CNPEM and UNESP

The Training Program in Geosciences applied to Petroleum IGCE / UNESPetro), from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Rio Claro campus, makes public the opening of applications for the selection process for admission of postdoctoral scholarship one (1 ) vacancy, within the scope of the ANP-PRH / FINEP notice.

About the project

The project aims to develop procedures for punctual analysis of trace elements in minerals using synchrotron light and execution of recurring on carbonate rocks affected by igneous bodies (Santos and Paraná basins). The candidate to carry out his activities on Sirius’ Carnaúba beamline. This beamline works with radiation in the tender X-ray range with a high degree of coherence, making it possible to carry out experiments capable of obtaining information about the composition, morphology and optical properties of the material in dimensions with nanometric dimensions. The candidate will work on the assembly, commissioning and operation of a high resolution detection system based on analyzer crystals coupled to the most modern area detectors. The candidate will have access to the most advanced equipment for the development of the “state of the art” in micro and nano-analytical techniques for the study of trace elements using X-rays with synchrotron light. In addition, the candidate will be involved in creating efficient efficiency for collecting and processing the measured data.

To apply, the candidate must follow the guidelines present in the notice available at: http://unespetro.com.br/prh-40.html
