The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) hosts and organizes conferences and other national and international scientific events that bring together researchers and students to discuss the latest developments related to synchrotron light techniques as well as accelerator physics and engineering. LNLS also regularly organizes schools and workshops aiming to popularize synchrotron techniques and to train users, new and regular, in obtaining, processing and analyzing experimental data.

29th Annual Users’ Meeting (RAU)

The 29th Annual Users’ Meeting (RAU) aims to gather the LNLS user community, encouraging the exchange of experiences and debates on the existing and future facilities. It is an important forum for discussion, evaluation and presentation of proposals for the improvement of the research structures. With the imminent inauguration Sirius, the new Brazilian synchrotron light source, the participation of the scientific community becomes essential to describe their needs and expectations for the new synchrotron source. The RAU meeting is the ideal place to foster this debate.

Synchrotron Techniques Under High Pressure (PRESSYNC)

Between July 31st and August 2nd, 2019, the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), part of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), will host the event Synchrotron Techniques Under High Pressure (PRESSYNC). PRESSYNC is a satellite workshop to the 27th International Conference on High Pressure Science and Technology (AIRAPT27).

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the PRESSYNC Satellite Workshop will bring together world leaders in high-pressure science to discuss the potential of synchrotron-based techniques under high pressure on the new fourth-generation synchrotron light sources, such as Sirius.

1st Workshop on Groundwater Remediation using Nano/biotechnology with focus on the Contaminated Resources in Brazil (GRUN)

The workshop on Groundwater Remediation using Nano/biotechnology with focus on the Contaminated Resources in Brazil (GRUN) is jointly organized by Teesside University (UK) and the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS/CNPEM). This event will be held from June 24th and 25th, 2019, at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), in Campinas, SP.

This workshop will be the first event in Brazil focusing on the use of metal nanoparticles for in-situ degradation of groundwater contaminates. The conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and engineers to collectively explore how these technological advances can be applied to Brazilian groundwater systems.

On June 26th an extra hands-on course will be offered exclusively to 20 participants based on selection by the Organizing Committee.
