ENVIRO

The objective of the ENVIRO is to nourish the emerging community of agri-environmental scientists currently using the LNLS and to attract newcomers to pursue their research work making use of our facilities by learning more about the applications of the techniques available. The Workshop covers present-day topics on emerging themes on agri-environmental sciences where synchrotron radiation are relevant. It will be held in 2 days and devoted to a multidisciplinary audience, namely: Rhizosphere Sciences and Biofortification of Staple Food Crops  and Air and Water Chemistry.

SCHOOL OF SAXS DATA ANALYSIS

The School in SAXS data analysis aims to teach the fundamentals of SAXS (Small Angle X-ray Scattering) through theoretical and experimental activities offered in the LNLS facilities. The school’s public is usually composed of graduate students and young scientists who wish to learn about this technique and whose research is in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Materials Sciences. The course provides an overview of the SAXS theory, computational packages for data processing and analysis, and modeling techniques. Training in the SAXS lines of the LNLS are usually carried out, using the experimental data obtained in practical tutorials.

SAXS WORKBENCH

The SAXS Workbench is a training for beginners in the SAXS technique held annually between the months of October and November. The basic principles of the SAXS technique is presented, including data collection in the experimental stations of SAXS1 and SAXS2 lines, through lectures and practical training provided by the researchers of the Laboratory. The school seeks to help participants strengthen their research proposals and prepare their first experiments with the overall objective to consolidate and enhance the user community of the SAXS1 and SAXS2 beamlines.

SCHOOL ON X-RAY SPECTROSCOPY METHODS

Promoted as a satellite event of the Annual Users Meeting (RAU), the School in Methods of X-ray Spectroscopy objective is to approach the fundamentals of X-ray spectroscopy method and analysis of data and its applications. Its program is usually started with introductory presentations on the theory and experimental aspects of spectroscopy with hard X-rays. Then, it presents advanced topics related to data analysis and examples of technical applications in many areas.
