The XRD2 Beamline Group is responsible for managing and operating the XRD2 Beamline dedicated to X-ray Diffraction and Scattering in the current UVX synchrotron light source of the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS).


The team of researchers and technicians is responsible for assembling the instrumentation necessary for performing the experiments. They are responsible for advising users in the operation of the equipment, collection of data and processing of the data obtained in the XRD2 beamline. The research interests of the team include the study of magnetic thin-films, Langmuir monolayers, development of new synchrotron based techniques (particularly coherent diffraction imaging) and advanced mechanics for scientific instrumentation.


The XRD2 Beamline Group also participates in the projects of the CARNAUBA and PAINEIRA Beamlines in the new synchrotron light source Sirius. CARNAUBA will focus in Coherent X-ray Scattering, Absorption and Fluorescence techniques with nanofocus, while PAINEIRA will focus on Powder X-ray Diffraction techniques.
