The Sample Environments Group (GAA) offers support to users with the scientific instrumentation necessary for supplying the adequate sample environment for in situ experiments in the beamlines of the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS).
For the assembly of the special gas systems, the group counts with equipment such as furnaces (max. temp.: 1473 K), cryostats (min. temp.: 1.7 K), temperature and flux controls, gas detectors, mass spectrometers, thermal baths and potentiostats. The GAA group guarantees the proper functioning of the instrumentation through preventive maintenance and testing prior to the programed experiment.
Besides user support, the group also develops and tests new sample environments for the beamlines and laboratories, specifies the buying of equipment and supplies, and offers advice on the installation of equipment that use gases.
